Motivation and my amazing husband

Some very needed motivation… When it’s my shift in the wee hours of the night, I always close my eyes and hope that I can make it through. I know the sun will come up. I know I will get through it. But when the house is so still and I think I have a moment to rest, it may happen that one boy starts to cry. He wakes his brother up and then they’re both crying. I’m fumbling over myself, putting on my eyeglasses and reconfiguring my disoriented eyes. Somehow and in some way, I am able to feed them both, juggling back and forth to make sure each boy gets his fill, burping, changing diapers, and soothing them back to sleep. It’s a circus I tell ya! Oh, the labors of love. As much as it seems like each day may never end, I remember to hold my babies close and soak in every breath, every stare, every smile. I know that time can fly in the blink of an eye.

I just want to write for a moment about my loving, supportive, and amazing husband. He goes back to work in a week (hence my apprehension and anticipation of taking care of the twins on my own). While he has been off, he not only has been an incredible partner and teammate in this new chapter of our lives, he has gone above and beyond in so many ways. Two big things he does/has done that I cannot be grateful enough for are: maintaining a lot of the housework and cleaning, and instilling confidence in me that I CAN do this. The housework is something I cannot even touch right now because I’m so exhausted just keeping up with the boys. But yet the hubs is constantly making moves around the house, tossing the old/unneeded, organizing, cleaning, doing load of laundry, keeping the sink clean so I can wake up to a clean one in the morning… The list is endless! As for all of the pep talks he’s has with me, I seriously don’t know where I’d be without them. I’ve had my share of meltdowns and I haven’t even started taking care of the boys on my own! Being so understanding and helping me find solutions and think ahead to anticipate what I’ll need, the hubs is such a wonderful husband and father. I LOVE seeing him with the boys. Just the way he looks at them, interacts with them, and cares for them… it all melts my heart. I always knew he’d be a great father, but he is even more than I ever would have imagined! Thanks, babe!!!
